To coincide with their annual St George’s Day Festival, The Smithfield Hotel is also celebrating the Easter weekend and the royal wedding in style with a 10 day beer festival from 22nd April right through until the 2nd May.
As is always at one of Manchester’s oldest establishments, there will be beers from all over the UK for customers to sample and devour. Some might be familiar breweries to real ale buffs but there will also be some brand new entrants to the market and several that have never been hand pulled in Manchester.
There will be over 50 ales to choose from and the pub have tried to obtain as many as possible that are themed to either three of the celebrations being held across the two bank holiday weekends.
The Smithfield Hotel itself has stood the time of tradition and is one of the little hidden gems of Manchester’s ale houses. Located in the Northern Quarter, it was the local ale house for workers at the old Smithfield Market and there are some of the locals who still frequent the bar to tell a tale or two!
The festival will also see a new look to the bar which has recently undergone a makeover with further plans to extend the bar area in the not too distant future.
