Bolton CAMRA
Anniversary Ale Trip
Wednesday 2nd November 2016
Meet at Bolton station at 10.50 to catch the 11.00 train to travel to Dewsbury (changing at Stalybridge), arriving at 12.22 to visit the West Riding Refreshment Rooms, Dewsbury Station where we have a choice from 8 real ales.
There are regular trains to Huddersfield from Dewsbury but would expect to catch 13.15 for the 10 minute trip. The plan is to have a couple of hours in Huddersfield which would give us time to explore 4 or 5 pubs.
The Sportsman, 1 St Johns Road, Huddersfield, HG1 1JF (8 real ales)
Corner – Mallinsons Brewery Tap house, 5 Market Walk, Huddersfield, HD1 2QA
Possibly the Rat and Ratchet, 40 Chapel Grove, Huddersfield, HD1 3EB or the Grove, 2 Spring Grove Street, Huddersfield, HD1 4BP but these depend on time
Ending up at the Head of Steam, St Georges Square, Huddersfield HD1 1JF (10 real ales) and the Kings Head, St Georges Square, Huddersfield, HD1 1JF (10 real ales) which are both part of the station complex.
Catching the train back to Bolton we will stop off at Stalybridge to sample some ale from the Station Buffet Bar with 9 hand pumps
