Following on from a previous article on this website, the brewery has just appointed Mickey Finn as sales development manager. He will help the brewery grow through new customers, whilst maintaining business with current customers within about a fifty mile radius of Bolton. He is doing similar work with Copper Dragon and Bowland breweries.
Mickey started working in the beer trade as a free-trade salesman for the much-lamented Matthew Brown Lion brewery and subsequently worked for Moorhouses.
In his earlier days Mickey was goalkeeper for Burnley Football Club, making his debut against Chelsea when both teams were in the old First Division, and he still speaks warmly of his old colleagues, in particular Mike Summerbee. When asked about the current Burnley team’s prospects in the premiership he said, with a twinkle in his eye, “they might surprise a few!”
Mickey is also a horse-racing aficionado, attending meetings at Haydock Park, York and Pontefract whenever he can.
Last but not least, he is an enthusiast for cask ale, which he describes as “my passion”, mentioning Abbeydale ‘Matins’ and Timothy Taylor’s ‘Golden Best’ as two of his favourites.
With his 25 years’ experience in brewery sales, plus his lively sense of humour, Mickey should be a great asset to Bank Top Brewery. We wish him well.
